Frequently Asked Questions
Where does Reflexology originate from?
Reflexology is an ancient art that has been practised for over 5000 years and is found in a variety of cultures, namely Ancient Egypt, China and India. The Chinese in particular promoted good health by massaging the feet and hands. Reflexology was introduced to the western world over 100 years ago Dr William Fitzgerald who initally introduced it as 'Zone Therapy'. This was then further developed in the 1930's by Eunice Ingham into what is now termed as Reflexology.
Will Reflexology help me?
Reflexology can help facilitate a deep and calming sense of harmony within. In turn this can then release tension within the body and facilitate the return of homeostasis (balance).
Reflexologists as holistic practitioners are there to support you as a whole person and as such Reflexology is a purely individual treatment.
Is Reflexology suitable for me?
Reflexology is a therapy which can be received by anyone from any age. However, there may be times when it is contraindicatory to provide a treatment, this can be discussed prior to treatment.
